2. St. Philip the Apostle Church – Bakersfield

At St. Philip the Apostle Church, you can find one of the best Catholic churches in Bakersfield. It was named in honor of St. Philip the Apostle and was set up in 1968 when St. Francis Parish was divided to support the growing community. Today, the congregation is led by Reverend Ignacio (Nacho) Villafan.

Like many other Catholic churches, St. Philip the Apostle believes in one God, the divinity of Jesus, and the Holy Trinity. The church offers Catholic religion sacraments of marriage, baptism, and confirmation.

4. St. Joseph Catholic Church – Bakersfield

If you want to try out another one of the Catholic churches in Bakersfield, St. Joseph Catholic Church is a good place to start. While the original founding of St. Joseph isn’t clear, the diocese gave the church the status of parish on April 16, 1907. Currently, the church is led by Father J. De Jesus Reynaga Amezquita.

Over the years, the church has focused on social outreach and support in the name of Jesus. It led to the acquisition of land for Garces Memorial High School. Like many Bakersfield churches, it offers different ministries like a choir, an altar and rosary society, a Blue Knight’s club, book study, and liturgical ministries.
