A friend recommended Smooth Move. The reviews and word of mouth were great so I called them too. Chris was great! Scheduling was super easy and you can't beat their prices anywhere. I also had a scheduling conflict, so I had to call Chris back to reschedule from a Saturday move to a Sunday move. He didn't charge me extra for the move being on a Sunday, what a guy! The movers showed up 15 minutes early (645am) and were professional, polite, and very careful with everything of mine. They had a pleasant smile and great attitude. After packing up my furniture they were off to my new home. They checked with me where everything should go and everything was in great shape. Tomas & Mike had the hard part of moving my belongings out & to storage 1 1/2 hours away.  My home has steep stairs which is a challenge when moving heavy furniture.  They are rock stars, no damage to furniture or walls. I recently moved from Bakersfield, CA to Mesa, AZ using Smooth Move.  My wife and I were being relocated for work but as the way things go these days, were responsible to pay out of our own pocket for the... read moreI recently moved from Bakersfield, CA to Mesa, AZ using Smooth Move.  My wife and I were being relocated for work but as the way things go these days, were responsible to pay out of our own pocket for the moving expense.  Regardless, I know I wanted full service so I called Smooth Move, Allied, and North American for quotes.  They all came to my house to prepare an estimate but Smooth Move was the most professional, most personable, and didn't tell me things they wouldn't do rather they told me what they WOULD do for us.  Their rate was a couple thousand dollars cheaper than the other two as well!

Packing the house was supposed to take two days- Only took one with the help of Louis, Oscar, Mike and Pete- These guys were awesome, friendly, and careful- Not one thing broken!  We scheduled delivery for a week later and they showed up on time and were finished within hours of unloading things into a 4000sf home.  Louis, Mikey, Anthony, and Naomi were the best!  Everybody was so nice and our experience using Smooth Move was seamless and left us with confidence the entire time.  I wouldn't have done it any other way! read less

We were panicked because we were on a tight time schedule to get to our next home in Idaho. We called Smooth Move on a whim to see if they could send anyone last minute. They came through for us! The lady that answered the phone was so professional and friendly. She said she'd call the boss and call us back in a few minutes with an answer. 5 minutes later she called us with great news! They would be sending two guys in 30 minutes!! We were thrilled. Jesse and Bert showed up for us and were so professional and did a fantastic job. Moving is expensive but it is so worth it to have everything done in one day, it takes some of the stress out of your moving day.  I had a 1680 sf home with 30 Year's worth of stuff, which the guys took good care of and were able to get it all done in the 8 hours allotted.
Jose, Michael, and Oscar were completely professional, timely, careful, and capable.  Jesse was easy to work with, responsive, and competitive.  I highly recommend contacting Smooth Move before you book one of the "big guys".  Thanks Smooth Move! I read less

My job was a small one: move from a 1250 square foot apartment to a 1050 townhome. It was done in 3 hours, which was the minimum estimated time.

I give extra props to Dan and his team member, who took on the stairmaster challenge of a 3-story townhome with a great attitude. They also made sure that there was minimal damage to the furniture and larger items - just the inevitable nick here and there. My only hesitation from jumping on the 5 star bandwagon here is that a customer might get the impression that they 'roll out the red carpet' based on the pictures featured on this page. And while I didn't necessarily need a RED carpet, it would have been nice if they had laid down some flooring protection or at least covered their shoes when coming in and out. In anticipation of moving furniture into places that likely would stay put for a long time, I had cleaned my hardwood floors just prior to this move (which was maybe a fool's errand). So the shoeprints and tracked-in dirt left me with a little more rework than expected.

But overall this was a great experience, and saved me a ton of effort (and back pain!). Smooth Move is a professional outfit that will definitely have my business again in the future. read less

Moving is always a traumatic, but this was a fabulous experience. From our first contact with Keith, who made all of the arrangements, estimates, and scheduling, to the final destination, there was no problem that was not immediately addressed and promptly resolved.
The movers, Jose, Tomas, and Michael worked at a feverous pace until everything was packed. The next day came the unpacking. They made every effort to put the boxes where they were labeled and not a single item was damaged. They took extra care to not damage the walls in the new house.
Overall I would rate them a 10, but I can only give them a 5. Needless to say, I recommend them without reservation. read less

Not only were they fast, friendly,  and clean and extremely polite, they went beyond the call of duty. Driving from Bakersfield to the valley  there was a good 2-3 hour delay due to a traffic accident on the Tejon pass. I was a little nervous  on how they would be after sitting in that traffic. It was like they were just starting their day when they arrived to North Hollywood. I could not recommended this company enough. We had a lot of concerns going in: moving a 2-br and 1-br apartments (separate locations) into a 5-br house, because of our work schedules (and budget) time was a factor, and after reading a ton of nightmare reviews of several moving companies, it looked like finding somebody reliable was a shot in the dark at best.

The first thing I noticed about Chuck, Tom, and Jesse was that they were super friendly and professional, the opposite of sketchy, and were there to WORK. They were concerned about making sure they were careful with our stuff, put down mats to protect the original wood floors in our 100-year old house, and were also very mindful of time- which was extremely respectful considering we were paying by the hour. Speaking of, we had priced multiple in-town and LA based companies and Smooth's quote was the most reasonable. My wife even got super direct with them (sorry Kevin!) and gave them the 3rd degree to uncover any hidden costs, but we were assured there would be none, just the hourly rate. NO ONE else does that, totally bad ass!

This move was something that my wife and I were equal parts excited (for the house) and completely dreadful (packing/the move/unpacking), and Chuck, Tom, and Jesse were a Godsend and we are so grateful we chose them to have moved us. We will absolutely use them again in the future, and they deserve the absolute highest recommendation allowable by law. Thanks again guys, you are very appreciated by us. 🙂 read less

First from the Dallas area to Bakersfield and then months later from my Bakersfield apartment to my Bakersfield home. I waited a year to review because it is my experience that things show up after a move that a moving company might have damaged or stolen. Well...I'm happy to report that I had no issues with Smooth Move. They were an excellent company to work with. It started with a quote from Smooth Move that wasn't the lowest, by a fraction, so I went with another company that I won't mention the name as to not defame their character. The other company showed up on moving day and wouldn't bring their "too large of a truck for my move" semi all the way to my apartment door for fear of cracking the driveway which was cleared by the apartment complex since they retrofit the driveways for these types of trucks. Instead they were going to cart all my furniture from the apartment to the street which was 600+ feet away. This would add hours of time to the move, which increased the quote, and possibly cause damage to my belongings. After trying to get them to move the truck closer, they just up and left!  With my tail between my legs I called Smooth Move to see if they could help me since I needed to get out of the apartment within a couple of days. They were so understanding and helpful. They couldn't come out the same day but they came out the next day and honored their original quote. They showed up in the correct size truck, happy and literally whistling movers, fully equipped with supplies and moved me without ANY problems. I mean no problems! Not one piece of broken furniture or anything missing. In hindsight, they ended up being the lower quote because they didn't use  tricks to increase the quote on moving day when it might feel like you're stuck. I've moved several times in my life with experiences that run the gamut of stories but Smooth Move lives up to their name. Even though I don't plan to move again (famous last words), I plan on letting everyone I know that they can't go wrong with Smooth Move. read less

The team of movers showed up on time and did a fantastic job. Anything wooden was covered in furniture blanket and plastic wrap as well as all furniture. They took every precaution to protect our property.  Very dependable and hard working. Estimate was dead-on (no hidden or unforeseen surprise expenses).
